Close up with... Figma Yui Hirasawa
So, another month, another K-On figure for me to review! Life doesn't get much better than this =3
And it's Yui again! Our favourite lil' guitar player is finally available in Figma form, with all the attention and love she deserves.
Upon opening the package, it hits you that this isn't just another Figma - there's some innovation here too! First and foremost - the stand is vastly improved. Yui's stand slotted right into her back without any need for wiggling or pushing. It seems they've really listened to what people were saying before, which is good. The other thing that hits you is the accessories that come with Yui.
Obviously, her Guitar is included. It's highly detailed, and comes with a strap (a proper one, rather than a moulded plastic one, allowing you to pose her more freely) and a guitar case (which in turn has straps and can be carried on Yui's back) into which you can place the guitar.
In addition, two faces are included - one with an open-mouthed smile, and one larger, blank face. Look back into the box, and voila - a sheet of face transfers! This lets you have all sorts of faces and looks for Yui that you can customise - blushes, sweatdrops, anger marks, whatever you want her to look like. This is a really fun addition to the figure and you really feel like the pose and look you go for is your own.
I really like this version of Yui. It's instantly lovable, and you'll be able to repose her 'til the cows come home. One thing we need on the next figure though - castanets! Sort that out and we'll have Figma of the Forever right there.
Final verdict? My favourite Figma so far. A standout moment for the series, and K-On fans will want to lap this up as soon as possible!
